Copenhagen Open 2007
PDGA Eurotour B-tier

5/5-2007 + 6/5-2007 (and doubles 4/5-2007)
Rules
We play by the PDGA rules (revised 15/11-2006) with excemption of local rules, that have first priority. On the course in Valbyparken there are these local rules:

1. If you land in a lake or inside the OB line of the lake, you must play from the marked drop zone with a penalty throw. This is because, we are NOT allowed to walk inside a 10 meter radius of the lakes due to protected frogs and toads (see also §803.09B and §804.01B in the PDGA rules)!

2. All other OB's than the above mentioned (roads, paths and so on) are penalized by the normal OB rules (again see §803.09B in the PDGA rules), except for the special OB mentioned below.

3. On hole 1 (the "Twin island" hole) you need to land inside one of the two islands from your tee off. If you miss, you get a penalty throw and have to re-tee. If you miss again, you get one more penalty throw and have to move to the FIRST island (there will be a new tee line marked in the middle of the first island) and then take your next tee off (5th throw). This time you have to tee off to the SECOND island (the island with the basket). Again you have to reach and stay inside the island; otherwise re-tee from the first island and get a penalty throw. You also have two tries here - if you miss the second tee off, you have to move to the border of the second island - about ten meters from the basket (this place will be marked). The next throw would then by your 9th throw. From this throw the normal OB rules are in play, hence you can putt/throw from the border of the second island, into the island and out of the island again, and then take your next throw from 1 meter inside the OB line of the island (from where you crossed the OB line). Normal OB rules applies also to putts made from inside the second island that goes out of bounds.

Note: The paving stones between the grass and the road on the right side of hole 4/5 and left side og hole 10 are NOT OB; only the road itself (and beyond) is OB!

Note also, that there are mandatories on holes 2, 5 and 14. There will be clearly marked arrows by the respective trees/poles, clearly marked mandatory lines on the grass and marked drop zones for missed mandatories!

There will be NO 2-meter out-of-Bounds rule in effect for this tournament!

Round starts
2 minutes ahead of the start of all rounds (except in the Open final) there will be repeated horn signals. No practice throws are allowed after these signals (§804.02 in the PDGA rules).
The round start itself is announced by a long horn signal. Start is not allowed until the signal has sounded.

We do also stress on the 30 second rule (§801.03A in the PDGA rules) and the 3 minute rule (§803.11A in the PDGA rules), so that we will be able to keep the schedule!
If the tournament temporarily has to be held up, for example in case of a thunderstorm, this will be signaled with repeated long signals.

Scorecards
The first player in each group is responsible for the group's scorecards. This includes making sure that the scorecards comes with the group on the round and that the scorecards, after the round, is returned to the tournament center, so that the staff can start processing the results. Note: It is important that you return the scorecards as soon as possible after all players have signed it!

The scorecards should be picked up at the times mentioned in the schedule from the leaderboard. There will be NO read outs of scorecards at the players meetings or other times before the rounds (except before the Open final)!
Please go through all scoring procedures in the rules (§804.03) to prevent miswritten scorecards and penalty throws in response to this.

Spotters
On certain holes there will be spotters to prevent lost discs and to check on blind holes, for OB's and mandatories. The spotters have no "official-status" regarding OB-decisions and rules! Hence the group has to make their own calls on OB's (remember to play provisional throws and note two scores for the player, if the group is in doubt)!

Tees
All tee signs are marked with Copenhagen Open-logo, the hole number, length and par. Please note that some tees and all hole numbers on the permanent 12 hole course are changed to satisfy the demands of Pro touring players. It is ALWAYS the Copenhagen Open-tee sign that is in effect - not the wooden tee poles!
The tees are clearly marked with a white frontline and small pennants on the left and right sides. Please note that it is this line that is the front tee line and that you must release the disc inside 3 meters of this line (see §803.02A in the PDGA rules).
Note: Some tees might be improved with artificial grass mats on top of the ordinary grass tees, if the ground is to wet or irregular. It is still rule §803.02A, that counts and therefore the artificial grass mat doesn't count as a big tee pad!

Tournament center
The tournament center is a big tent at a wide oval grass area surrounded by a low windrow. All from registering, handing out scorecards, stall with sale of drinks/snacks to lunches, prize ceremonies and shuttle pick up/drop off will be here.
In the tournament center there will be an information board with all changes/updates regarding the tournament.
IT IS ALWAYS THE INFORMATION ON THIS BOARD THAT IS CORRECT AND THAT SHOULD BE FOLLOWED - PLEASE CHECK THIS BOARD REGULARLY!
See Tournament area map for placement of the tournament center.

Warm up/practice
The course (except some OB's) will be set up and ready to play from Wednesday 2/5-2007 at 18:30.
There will be a driving range close to the tournament center as well as practice baskets for putting near the tournament center tent.

Drinking water
There will be drinking water at the tournament center and in a small tent between holes 6, 12 and 13.

Toilets
There is one toilet between basket 14 and tee 15 (in the bottom of the "upper" parking lot) and one at the cafeteria, that is placed 70 meters behind tee 2. Drinking water can also be tapped from the sinks at the toilets.

Results
The results and groupings will continuously be updated on the leaderboard and printed out copies. This website will be updated in the evening after each day's play with all results.

Merchandise
There will be two shops selling discs and other merchandise during the tournament.
We urge all players to support these Danish disc selling companies - the market is not that big in Denmark!

Semifinal holes
The semifinal is played only in open division by top 24 plus tied places. The holes to play are as follow (in this order): 16, 17, 18, 4, 6, 7, 8, 11 and 12. The semifinal is played simultaneously with the finals of the other divisions. The other divisions play on the final holes though.

Final holes
The final is played in all created divisions by top 4. The holes to play are as follow (in this order): 5 (extended to 253 meters, par 5 - in OPEN final only), 9, 10, 13, 3, 2, 14, 15 (extended to 258 meters, par 5 - in OPEN final only) and 1.

Sudden deaths
Sudden deaths are played to resolve tied results before finals and/or tied places for first places in ALL divisions. Sudden deaths are played on holes 16, 17 and 18. If a winner isn't found after these three holes, there will be closest-to pin on hole 16.

Hole-in-one
HIO is played during SATURDAY rounds. All HIO will recieve prizes (sponsored merchandise).

Closest-to-pin
CTP is played during SATURDAY rounds on hole 16. The winner will recieve the CTP-prize, which is sponsored merchandise.
If a hole-in-one is made on the CTP hole, it will count as a hole-in-one, not as a CTP. You will therefore get prize for the hole-in-one instead.
